Today I walk to end ALS.  This disease took an amazing wife, mother and grandmother from a family I adore.  It took a work colleague from his family.  It is a disease that slowly steals the body, then steals life.  I walk to support those with the disease, their families, and with hope that one day a cure will be found. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, talk, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, at any age and there is still no known cause or cure.

 

That's why I'm walking. To build a future without ALS.  To bring help and hope to patients and families affected by this terrible disease, in the hopes that one day ALS is a disease of the past.
