Welcome to My Personal Page
I have a simple ask- the more we raise, the more of a chance there will be a cure someday for ALS. This mark's the 33rd year of my mom Phyllis losing her battle to ALS. I have now lived more years without my Mom than I did with, but her memory is what still helps me push on everyday in the fight to defeat such a horrible disease in ALS. All this month I am appearing at our ALS Walk events across the state and I am asking you to show your support in whatever monetary way you see fit. Thank you in advance for helping me reach my Walk to Defeat ALS fundraising goal! The Walk ALS Charlotte raises funds to support those affected by ALS here in North Carolina, and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure.
It was 1992 when my Mom lost her very short battle with ALS. I was in the early years of my television sports career, and could not be with her. She would write me letters that would detail how frustrating it was to be losing her ability to speak, as she would love to sing gospel hymns. Her mind was sharp to the end.
That's why I'm walking so that we can reverse the numbers and first make this a livable disease. Let's ensure that no one in the future ever hears the words: "You have ALS" again.
Thank you so much and my staff and I dedicate every work day to fighting this disease and helping our ALS Community.
