Walk ALS Wilmington

Paul's Pack

Hello friends and family,

It is hard to believe this will be our 7th year participating in the ALS Walk in honor and memory of Paul Herbert. Our wonderful Paul succumbed to ALS in 2019 and we miss him dearly.  ALS robs people from a full life, devastating families, loved ones and futures.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP

  • To raise awareness and finally find a cure for ALS.
  • To provide much needed resources and services to families and caregivers free of charge.
  • To help unlock the mystery of ALS and find the key to treatments and cure.
  • To expand clinical services and treatments to ALS patients.

ABOUT ALS

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. There is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need.
