We hope you can help us reach our Walk ALS Wilmington fundraising goal! The Walk ALS Wilmington raises funds to support the ALS community in North Carolina and to build ALS awareness to find treatments and a cure.

For those that are unaware, I was recently diagnosed with ALS. I have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to contribute to a few medical trials that support research that furthers development of ALS treatments and develop assistive technologies and devices to improve the quality of life of current and future ALS patients. Your donations help to fund these research initiatives and ultimately, find a cure. 

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, talk, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, at any age, and there is still no known cause or cure. That's why we are walking. To build a future without ALS.  To bring help and hope to patients and families affected by this terrible disease, in the hope that one day ALS is a disease of the past.  

Now, more than ever, we need to keep the momentum going.  We need to continue to push for more treatments and find a cure for ALS.
