Join Team Papa Tony - We've got the Power

We are proud to be part of "Team Papa Tony" for the Walk ALS Wilmington, celebrating the incredible resilience and courage of Tony Favaloro as he bravely battles Bulbar ALS. With the unwavering support of family and friends, Tony has inspired many of us to fight for a future without ALS.

Why We Walk

ALS is a relentless disease, but our hope and determination are unstoppable forces. United and energized, we aim to support patients and families who face similar battles every day and to honor Tony's unwavering spirit. By raising awareness and funds, we can drive research and aid in discovering treatments and an eventual cure.

Tony's Story

With gradual symptoms beginning in 2022 leading to an eventual diagnosis in 2024, Tony has shown us what it means to fight courageously, never losing hope and inspiring others to do the same. With the strength of love and community by his side, Tony's story fuels our determination to move forward until ALS is a disease of the past. Let's walk together in solidarity, celebrating his strength and the lives of others affected by ALS.

Get Involved: Make a Difference

We invite you to join us—whether you're walking alongside us or supporting from afar. Every stride, every roll, and every donation propels us closer to our goal of ending ALS, driven by the united strength of our community. Together, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by ALS in North Carolina and beyond.

Join us in this vital cause, and let’s make Tony proud in our shared journey towards hope and healing! With collective determination, we can make meaningful change happen.

Thank you for helping me reach my Walk ALS Wilmington fundraising goal! The Walk ALS Wilmington raises funds to support the ALS community in North Carolina and to build ALS awareness to find treatments and a cure.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, talk, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, at any age and there is still no known cause or cure.

That's why I'm walking. To build a future without ALS.  To bring help and hope to patients and families affected by this terrible disease, in the hopes that one day ALS is a disease of the past.

Over the past few years, there have been advancements in ALS research, as well as expanded resources and access to care for people living with ALS.

But now, more than ever, we need to keep the momentum going.  We need to continue to push for more treatments and find a cure for ALS.

Please consider joining me at the walk - we will walk and roll together, united with wheelchairs and scooters, families, neighbors and friends, strollers and pets – all are welcome!  If you can't make it to the walk, please consider making a donation. With your support, we can make a difference in the lives of people affected by this disease right here in North Carolina.
