Margaret's Walk ALS Charlotte Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my Walk ALS Charlotte fundraising page and for helping me reach my $5000 goal. The walk raises funds to support the ALS community in North Carolina and to build ALS awareness to find treatments and a cure. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a real difference in the fight against this devastating disease.
While I am thankful that no one in my family has ever had ALS, I know many people who have been directly affected by it -- as a patient, a family member, or a caregiver.
You probably do too.
Or perhaps, like me, you & your loved ones have faced similar neurological diseases, like Parkinson?s or Alzheimer?s. All three diseases have more in common than many people realize, and I've learned that progress in understanding one often leads to insights into the others. That?s one reason that, when asked to join the Board of Directors for ALS United North Carolina, I happily said yes. ALS United NC provides care and support to people living with ALS and also funds essential research for effective treatments and, hopefully soon, a cure. Advancing care & research for ALS can also help unlock answers that benefit everyone affected by a wide range of neurological diseases.
I?m excited about playing a small part in this mission and hope you will join me with your support. Funds raised through this page go directly toward ALS research, patient care, and advocacy. They help provide critical equipment, home visits, and support seven clinics across the state with multi-disciplinary teams of specially trained health care professionals. The newest clinic is right here in Arden, in the old Fletcher YMCA location. Very exciting for us in WNC!
Thank you again for your interest and your generosity of money or simple moral support. It all helps in the fight against ALS!
