Welcome to My Personal Page
I started this Team for me and my girls to do I believe 4 year's ago. I saw this walk on Facebook and my heart said this is what I'd love to do not only for me and my heart but to keep Grampys legacy alive. George Woodbury Hannaford was a loving husband to my Grammy .A wonderful father and an amazing Grampy.I started this Team Grampy because I knew even though he is gone that it may show him that in fact I'm fighting for him and because he has left me that maybe he will see that the disease now is a fight worth now we can fight for other families who are here still fighting or have in fact lost that fight just like he has. It's a simple task for me do this walk but my benefits of this walk is so extreme for me. I get to have my day in remembrance and cry for him because my heart misses his presence and just him. Walk day I know he's with me ..Hes with his children..grandchildren and his great grand children. I feel that this is important for all of us. We get our day now with our dad and with our Grampy. And we are fighting for the loved ones who want to keep their loved ones here. I will continue doing this until they find a cure. And by God I pray strongly that they do. This ALS is such a horrible disease and I pray to find a cure. Much love. TEAM GRAMPY GWH

Thank you for helping me reach my Walk ALS Wilmington fundraising goal! The Walk ALS Wilmington raises funds to support the ALS community in North Carolina and to build ALS awareness to find treatments and a cure.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, talk, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, at any age and there is still no known cause or cure.
That's why I'm walking. To build a future without ALS. To bring help and hope to patients and families affected by this terrible disease, in the hopes that one day ALS is a disease of the past.
Over the past few years, there have been advancements in ALS research, as well as expanded resources and access to care for people living with ALS.
But now, more than ever, we need to keep the momentum going. We need to continue to push for more treatments and find a cure for ALS.
Please consider joining me at the walk - we will walk and roll together, united with wheelchairs and scooters, families, neighbors and friends, strollers and pets – all are welcome! If you can't make it to the walk, please consider making a donation. With your support, we can make a difference in the lives of people affected by this disease right here in North Carolina.
