Welcome, Chatlos Champions!
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, talk, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, at any age and there is still no known cause or cure.
Please consider joining our team as we walk in honor of Gerald "Jerry" Chatlos. This will be our 19th walk in Wilmington, North Carolina and Jerry participated in many of them. In the same fashion that he addressed ALS, he just kept going.
He was a great Dad, husband, brother, Uncle, cousin, brother-in-law, friend, and would have been a wonderful Grandpa. He was well respected at the Charlotte ALS clinic where he helped with various communication devices.
Feel free to just show up, bring your dog(s), and even your baby strollers!
