Hello everyone!

I have been volunteering and fundraising for ALS United North Carolina since 2005. I began when Amelia "Roxie" Shelton was diagnosed and Team Roxie was formed. We also lost a close family friend, Nellie Westbrook. While volunteering for The ALS Association NC Chapter, I had the chance to meet an amazing person, Mary Luper. She started the ALSapalooza Music Festival and a team of us are continuing the event in her memory.

**WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP**

The disease robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy averages 2-5 years and it costs an average of $250,000 to provide the care ALS patients need.
